ADCS Re-Entry (Last Week of School)
Dear ADCS Families,
We are thrilled to announce that the school will be open next week with a modified schedule for students that have returned to the community.
Parkland School Division is committed to providing safe and caring places for all students to learn and our thoughts go out to all families of students and staff that have been affected by this state of emergency. What we learned from our counterparts that have been through an evacuation and re-entry before (Fort McMurray & Slave Lake), is students need support. Even though there may not have been direct damage to property, the sudden evacuation and observations on re-entry can be traumatic. So therefore, we have developed a modified school week for the last week of school to allow students to have a great end to their school year.
Staff are eager to reconnect with students but we understand that not all families may be ready to return to school for various reasons. We are here to help and provide any additional supports where we can. If you are not ready or unable to attend, students may continue with the work packages picked up in Fort McMurray and/or their Google classroom work.
For precautionary measures, and to give cleaning staff a chance for a proper evaluation and cleaning of the school, ADCS will remain closed to the public for Monday, June 26th and the morning of Tuesday, June 27th.
At this time, unfortunately, it is confirmed that bus service will not be available all next week. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Modified School Week
Tuesday June 27 (afternoon only) - Movie, 1pm
Wednesday June 28 - Outdoor activities for the students
Thursday June 29 - Report card pick-up and community BBQ, 11am-3pm (Last day for students) Note: students may attend school in the morning as we will have more activities planned.
Friday June 30 - Administration Day (no students attend)
Please note: There will also be limited staff at the school due to travel logistics.
